Why Camper Angel

You have found the perfect spot. The view is stunning. But the moment you lock the door and walk away, that voice starts: Did I close everything? Is it safe?

We know that feeling. Camper Angel was built because of it.

Why not just buy an off-the-shelf alarm?

Most alarms are built for houses — mains power, stable WiFi, a nearby response team and an owner who stays put. None of that applies to life on the road.

Car alarms are subscription-based and answered with horn and lights that your neighbours hate and thieves ignore.

Camper Angel was designed from the ground up for motorhome life:

Runs on 12V — ready for lithium and LiFePo4 setups at 14.4V. The gateway includes a DC-DC buck converter. No inverter needed.

Always watching — if your system goes offline while armed, you get notified. The Watchdog service is included, free, with no subscription.

No false alarms — smart logic lets your dog move around inside without triggering a notification. You get alerted when a door opens, not when a cat walks past.

Instant push alerts — even when your phone is on silent. The Shelly app bypasses silent mode for alarm notifications.

Works anywhere — Albania, Portugal, Norway. Any WiFi or mobile hotspot connection is enough.

Why does it cost more than buying the parts yourself?

If you source the hardware yourself, you pay roughly the component price. We charge more — and here is exactly why.

We configure and test every device before it leaves us. Your gateway arrives pre-flashed with our firmware, pre-paired to your sensors, and ready to connect to your network. You plug it in and it works.

Included in the price is 1–1.5 hours of installation support — from us, not a chatbot. The markup covers the hours it takes to make something genuinely plug-and-play, backed by people who use the same system themselves.
